Named in honour of Joan Kruger, former editor of Rooi Rose, a magazine that has played an important role in promoting rose growing in South Africa.
This variety is a classic Antico Moderno™ rose. Its slightly pointed, globular buds open slowly to reveal densely layered short petals forming a beautifully quartered centre. The blooms are medium-sized, mainly white with soft ivory tones, gently touched with a blush of pink on the inner petals.
The plant is tall and vigorous, producing strong basal shoots that branch out into impressive candelabra-like stems. Each branch carries a perfect, pickable bloom.
This rose performs well as a standalone feature but also works beautifully when planted in groups or combined with other hybrid tea roses.
