Otto de Jager, renowned as the king of event management, is honoured with this rose for popularising the use of large, open rose blooms in wedding bouquets and table decorations.
This striking variety produces perfectly formed hybrid tea buds that open into impressive, deep cerise-pink blooms shaded with red tones. As the flowers unfurl, the outer petals gently reflex, revealing a richly filled centre of tightly incurved petals.
The blooms are carried on strong, tall, upright stems, making them ideal for cutting and vase arrangements. The plant grows to about shoulder height, with vigorous, healthy foliage and a generous production of flowers suitable for display.
Proceeds from this rose are donated to Otto’s chosen AIDS foundation.
