Apply a generous layer of mulch around the roots to help retain moisture and keep the soil cool. In Cape Town, a position receiving morning sunlight and afternoon shade is ideal for protecting the foliage and flowers during hot summer weather. Prune in late winter before new growth begins, as this variety flowers on new-season growth. When planting from a 15 cm pot, allow enough space for the shrub to reach its mature size.
